Sport is intrinsic to human development and the flowering of the human personality. It promotes physical development, enhances mental strength and build resilience.

College Endeavors

  1. To encourage students to participate in sports and union activities at least in one each.
  2. Always to provide instruction and provision of a wide range of sporting and physical activities; awareness of the physical fitness and good nutrition as significant elements is healthy living.
  3. To provide opportunities and infrastructure for sports and union activities.
  4. To provide individual teachers to be in charge and motivate in sports and union activities.

Sports - Guidelines & Rules

  1. All College students are required to participate in the sporting activities of the College. Where required students will represent the College in National and School Sporting Competitions. Such representation will take priority over other sporting involvements.
  2. Students may choose from a wide variety of sports each term. Participants are expected to wear the College tracksuit on sports day and participate in the uniform as set down for each specific sport.
  3. College colours and other awards will be presented to students who excel in sports.
  4. Conduct on & off the field shall be in accordance with the rules & spirit of the game.
  5. Sportsman are ambassadors of St. Joseph's College and must act with responsibility, dignity and honest on and off the field.
  6. Selection of the team will be on competence, performance, discipline and team spirit and done by a panel of selectors appointed by the Fr. Rector.
  7. Only those who attend classes will be allowed to participate in sports.

Parent - Reponsibility

  1. Parents shall provide the highest level of physical, emotional and moral support to their children.
  2. Parents shall refrain from trying to influence team selection.
  3. College shall seek the support of parents to ensure the college achieves the highest level of excellence in sport.
  4. Parents shall always be disciplined & loyal. The students of the misbehaving parents will be penalized in representing the College.
